SALES OF ICE CREAM
Why isn’t ice-cream sold in Belgian railway stations…and why do the Finns eat more ice cream even though it’s cold? We were asked to look at the difficulty of selling ice-cream at Brussels Gare du Nord railway station. This was our analysis: In Belgium (like Holland) ice cream is associated with holidays, sun sea and sand (not things which readily come to mind in Gare du Nord). What’s more in Belgium ice-cream comes in a cornet. In Finland, just like in the states, it comes in large tubs to be eaten in front of the tv, all summer and winter long.
INCREASING SALES OF A THEME PARK
Meli Park was one of our very first projects and one of our favorites. They approached IMAGINIF to increase sales of merchandise. The theme park, revolving around bees and honey, was struggling with sales. After carefully observing customer and employee behavior, Jean-Pierre’s conclusion was simple. There wasn’t enough cash in the park. The closest ATM was outside the park, literally driving families out of the park if they wanted cash. But, because of cost issues, the park couldn’t get one. So Jean Pierre suggested pay terminals, where people could get cashback with their purchases.
We carried out a survey for Spector among their photographers asking them how the brand could improve relations with them. A matrix provided us four possible models of collaboration. It is with this tool that were selected the dealers who would receive financial incentives and those who would be motivated by other means. On the basis of this analysis we created a design that allowed for the greatest possible performance.
